Little Poppy Tops

With the Laser cut Poppy design I isolated the top of the poppy and made it into a little flower design out of found fabric.

Some were sewn together in long strings to create decorative garlands for my degree show

Others were attached to my samples as embellishments

Pretty Quirky Poppies

Pretty Poppies created out of found fabric which was laser cut with my folky retro poppy design.

The Poppy head design was originally taken from my Poppy Illustrations

This is the first attempt at the Poppy design where I scanned the poppy illustration straight into the athos programme it was an easy way to create the design although it was  a very spindly design and the poppies fell apart

\

I did use them in collage work and it was a good learning experience with the laser cutter :)

This is the second attempt of the poppy design made more chunky through illustrator and then imported into the athos programme so that the poppies wont fall apart

This was a little accident I got the scale wrong and these are only 1.2 cm heigh it was a good reminder to check your sizes before you cut with the laser as this actually nearly caught fire :(

And these are all the poppy heads on different things, They looked great in collages, on knitwear and found fabric

Pretty Laser Cut Trims

I experimented with some laser cutting and I have created my own laser cut trims using felt I brought in paris, I wanted them to look quirky and to be able to thread ribbons and found fabric through them making them more tactile and different but still keeping the plant like vintage inspiration.

So cute as a little pocket idea!
